Gluttony in the name of Chari-Tea

Posted on 13/09/2016

On Monday 1 August 2016, Eastwood Financial Services held a Yorkshire Day Tea Party as part of our ongoing support of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

This time, our very own Ian Devlin took the reins in arranging this event, which was incredibly well organised and his efforts are greatly appreciated.

We were all more than happy to put our hands in our pockets for a little taste of heaven in the form of the many delicious goodies that were baked and contributed by a number of our members of staff.

Alongside this, a Yorkshire themed picture quiz was held amongst our employees for a bottle of red wine originating from God’s own County, which was won by Vakas Mirza. His victory can be credited more to his creative abilities in sourcing the answers from elsewhere than an expansive general knowledge – as such, justice seemed to prevail when he reported back on how the wine actually tasted….

Finally, we held a raffle for afternoon tea for two at Blacker Hall Farm, which was won by Stephen Gandy. Whether cucumber sandwiches, tea and scones contains enough protein to form part of his strict, athletic regime is still to be confirmed!

In total, we managed to raise a total of £210 (prior to the inclusion of gift aid) for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

We thank all our employees for their generosity and hope to hold further fundraising activities for this remarkable charity in the future.
